Job Summary
Plan and implement curriculum within established guidelines, preparing necessary supplies and equipment for relevant program activities. Work cooperatively with staff to ensure program quality while providing direction to Assistant Teachers as needed. Care for the health and well-being of children, administering first aid when necessary and reporting incidents promptly. Maintain appropriate discipline methods, document notable behaviors, and keep the center clean and presentable. Initiate and maintain communication with families, school personnel, and community agencies, providing ongoing feedback on child development. Ensure all Licensing standards and regulations are met at all times.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Meets educational and experience qualifications established by CA state law and Community Care Licensing including 12 ECE units
- 1 year of previous experience working in a professional child care or school aged program
- At least 18 years of age
- Pre-employment health screening
- TB clearance
- Current certificates for Pediatric First Aid and CPR
- Completion of 15 hours of preventative health and safety training or completion of this training within 90 days of hire
- LiveScan fingerprint and criminal record clearance
- Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to supervise program activities
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs
- Visual ability to clearly monitor activities in both indoor and outdoor settings
- Mobility to quickly respond to emergencies
