Job Summary
Develop and lead daily lesson plans for before and after school programming, preparing materials and providing weekly updates to parents. Maintain supervision of children while tracking attendance, arrival, and departure times, and assist with parent-teacher conferences. Manage classroom supplies and equipment to ensure a safe, fun environment for participants. Work weekday shifts from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM and/or 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with part-time hours up to 25 weeks. Receive a $2/hour shift premium for covering both program times.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college
- six months to one year childcare related experience
- equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles
- Ability and desire to work with infants, toddlers, preschool and school age children
- Working knowledge of computers
- experience with a variety of software applications
- Blood Borne Pathogen training
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
- First Aid Certification
- AED-Oxygen Certification
- State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT)
- 0 - 5% of local travel within the state of Michigan
- occasional out-of-state travel may be required for educational conferences or training
