Job Summary
Implement culturally relevant activities in elementary Before and After School programs, guiding students through sports, arts, and STEM while supervising groups to ensure safety and foster social-emotional learning. Professionally communicate with parents, maintain site cleanliness, and prepare snacks as needed. Adhere to YMCA policies, attend mandatory trainings, and complete required background checks and vaccinations. Start August 24 at various Seattle elementary locations. This part-time onsite role supports the YMCA of Greater Seattle's mission to build a stronger, more equitable community for youth.
Required Qualifications
- 16 years of age or older
- 1-2 years' experience with children; camps, childcare, tutoring, or nannying
- Ability to model and demonstrate Y values: caring, respect, responsibility and honesty
- Experience planning and implementing group activities
- High school diploma or equivalent, or be currently enrolled in high school or an equivalent education program
- Completion of minimum STARS required training
- CPR/First Aid Training
- Cleared Portable Background Check in the statewide registry MERIT
- MMR Vaccination Required: Licensed School Age Programs require Mumps, Measles and Rubella immunization
- Pre-employment TB tests
Desired Qualifications
- 18 or older is preferred
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
- Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful
