Job Summary
Guide elementary-age participants through sports, arts, STEM, and hands-on learning activities at the Before and After-School Enrichment program, fostering teamwork and social-emotional growth. Supervise groups to ensure health, safety, and positive experiences while implementing culturally relevant curriculum aligned with Youth Development goals. Provide guidance to staff, communicate confidential updates to parents, and maintain site cleanliness. Prepare and serve snacks, attend mandatory trainings, and follow all YMCA policies regarding child abuse prevention and emergencies. Start August 24; part-time onsite hours vary by location.
Required Qualifications
- 16 years of age or older
- 1-2 years' experience with children; camps, childcare, tutoring, or nannying
- Ability to model and demonstrate Y values: caring, respect, responsibility and honesty
- Experience planning and implementing group activities
- High school diploma or equivalent, or be currently enrolled in high school or an equivalent education program
- Completion of minimum STARS required training
- CPR/First Aid Training
- Cleared Portable Background Check in the statewide registry MERIT
- MMR Vaccination
- TB tests
Desired Qualifications
- 18 or older
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
- Ability to speak any language in addition to English
