Job Summary
Coordinate the before and after school site in accordance with YMCA guidelines, ensuring program curriculum and materials are prepared and accessible. Lead staff and children by identifying student needs, providing interactive guidance, and fostering character development centered on Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. Build authentic relationships with staff, students, and parents while encouraging involvement and identifying volunteers. Maintain required records including checklists, attendance, and food service logs, and complete corrective action and incident reports as necessary. Schedule and plan site activities adhering to the program curriculum and HEPA standards, while ensuring the site remains organized with supplies put away daily. Participate in required staff meetings, trainings, and bi-monthly Parent Advisory Committee meetings. Assist with monthly statistical reports and provide exceptional customer service to parents and participants. Work directly with school personnel and YMCA staff to build professional relationships under the direction of the Program Director.
Required Qualifications
- High school education
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- Experience working with children and a diverse community
- Desire and ability to work with all ages (K-5, teen and team members)
- Desire to lead from the front, role modeling expectations for team
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to be flexible with work schedule
- Ability to work in excess of a 20-hour week
- 7:00am to 9:00am and/or 2:00pm to 6:00pm Monday-Friday
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time
- Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids
- Must be able to lift and carry food and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds
- Sit, Stand, or maintain physical activity for extended periods of time (including outside and in the pool!)
- Ability to apply proactive team management techniques and employ conflict resolution with the team as needed
- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
- Reliable transportation
- Flexible with hours
- Occasional before school hours and/or other duties as needed

Desired Qualifications
- 2-4 years of supervisory experience preferred
- CPR and First Aid Certifications preferred
- Ability to be flexible with work schedule preferred
