Job Summary
Lead engaging enrichment classes in photography, dance, coding, visual arts, sports, robotics, theater, or music, designing hands-on lessons that build toward culminating projects or showcases. Create a safe, welcoming environment where students express creativity and discover new passions while building meaningful relationships with children, families, and school staff. Serve as a positive role model supporting YMCA program standards and youth development during the academic year. This part-time seasonal role follows the school calendar with shifts typically Monday through Friday between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., averaging 18 to 21 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Eighteen (18) years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with school age children or teens in a group setting
- Experience teaching or leading skill based classes, enrichment activities, recreation, arts, academics, sports, STEM, or other specialized programs
- Strong communication skills
- Emotional maturity
- The ability to build positive, authentic relationships with children and families from diverse backgrounds
- Current EMSA First Aid and Adult, Infant, and Child CPR certifications, or the ability to obtain required certifications as a condition of employment
- Completion of required health screenings and background clearances prior to working with participants
- Part-time position
- Seasonal position
- Monday through Friday on school days
- Shifts generally scheduled between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
