Job Summary
Plan, organize, and implement the daily Before and After School Program schedule and curriculum while supervising staff and volunteers to ensure a safe environment for all children. Maintain comprehensive records including attendance, fire drills, and medical logs in compliance with Office of Children and Family Services regulations. Supervise, train, and evaluate personnel while maintaining positive relations with school staff and parents. Manage equipment inventory, ensure facility cleanliness, and dispense medication as regulated. Assist in recruitment, program accreditation, and enhancing the Fun Club Program while implementing the YUSA 9 core component curriculum.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Associate's degree in child development, elementary education, physical education, recreation or related field
- at least two years direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years
- at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care programmer related field of work
- NYS Children's Program Administrator credential
- School Age Child Care Credential or other office recognized credential specific to the school-age developmental period
- Two years of college with 18 credits in the above listed areas of concentration

- Possess a general knowledge and understanding of the YMCA, its goals, and its mission

- Ability to supervise children by sight and sound at all times
- Ability to move quickly to react to safety issues in the setting
- Ability to move around the gym/field to assist children and supervise children with daily activities, social interaction, physical, and emotional needs
- Ability to lift equipment and supplies up to 40 lbs
- Ability to work in all elements
- Ability to move from program site to branch or site to site
- required to enter all YMCA environments including, program space, buses, schools, pools, and program area
- Meet all requirements of dress code policy
- Maintain all required certifications
- Attend all required meetings and trainings
