Job Summary
Lead and supervise a group of elementary school participants (grades K–5), ensuring their safety and welfare during all activities including aquatics. Establish positive relationships with children while maintaining cooperative connections with parents and caregivers. Implement activity plans, manage sign-in/sign-out procedures, and keep accurate attendance and headcount records. Monitor individual needs, report suspected child abuse per Florida State Law, and document accidents using proper health logs. Maintain equipment, supplies, and facility cleanliness while adhering to YMCA best practices and emergency procedures. Attend required staff meetings, training sessions, and special events. Report all hours worked accurately to the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Knowledge of Florida State Law regarding child abuse reporting
- Knowledge of medication and food allergy policies
- Ability to maintain accurate attendance and headcount
- Ability to complete health logs and accident/incident forms
- Ability to attend required staff meetings and training sessions
- Ability to report all hours worked accurately and in a timely manner
- Knowledge of emergency procedures
- Knowledge of Elementary Schools Program policies
- Knowledge of Orange County Public Schools policies
- Ability to maintain good working conditions, inventory, and perform cleans-up
- Ability to represent the mission and core values of the YMCA of Central Florida
