Bed Management Coordinator - Augusta, GA - Full Time

Bed Management Coordinator coordinates procedural and surgical bed placements, admissions (direct admissions, ED, hospital-to-hospital transfers), and transfers between units to open beds as needed. Maintains daily communication with bed meeting members of the hospital census, applies clinical knowledge and nursing judgment to determine appropriate placement for the right patient at the right time, and evaluates admissions and ED requests for placement. Collaborates with the Patient Flow Leader, patient access services, and care teams to ensure accurate bed placement, facilitate emergent care placements, and coordinate with cath/critical care teams as needed. Performs nursing processes in care coordination, delivers patient-centered care, adheres to evidence-based practice, and supports change through effective communication. Requires an RN with 2+ years of hospital nursing experience; Epic and 3M experience preferred; certifications (BLS etc.) as required upon hire; supports ongoing professional development and interdepartmental collaboration to reduce readmissions and optimize bed utilization.
