Job Summary
Conduct re-merchandising and straightening to keep the salesfloor runway ready, while assisting customers with cashiering transactions across in-store, online, and mobile platforms. Operate the point-of-sale system, bag items of all sizes, and handle bulky merchandise including boxes. Support the fitting room experience by greeting customers and sorting or returning clothing to the floor. Maintain a clean, clutter-free environment by organizing stockrooms, checking in merchandise, and accurately ticketing items. Adhere to operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards while promoting the Nordstrom Rewards program. Work a flexible schedule based on business needs, requiring continuous movement for 6-8 hours with physical demands including lifting up to 25 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Clear, effective communication with strong interpersonal skills
- Accountability, initiative and a high level of ownership
- Organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift
- Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items
- Reaching for and lifting items above the head
- Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
- Occasionally lift items up to 25 pounds
- Demonstrate expertise in all technologies used in the store environment
- Adhere to all operational, merchandise and asset protection standards
- Promote initiatives like our Nordstrom Rewards program
