BCORE Peer Support Specialist

Job Summary
Provide outreach and peer support to individuals with mental health and/or substance use challenges, coordinating housing, benefits (SSI/SSDI, SNAP), and community resources; engage clients through canvassing and visits to shelters, hospitals, and agencies; deliver one-on-one and group peer support, case management, and advocacy within an interdisciplinary team; educate clients and families on health, harm reduction, and prevention; follow Housing First and trauma-informed practices; maintain documentation per HMIS and agency policies; require CPRS credential or equivalent experience and possession of a Maryland driver's license with access to a personal vehicle; on-call nights and weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or equivalent work experience
- Maryland Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) credential or at least 2 years' experience in Peer Support
- Obtain CPRS credential within 12 months of hire and maintain CPRS in good standing
- Valid Driver's License with no more than 4 points
- Access to a personal vehicle
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
