Job Summary
BCF Spinning Operator role requiring training from Monday–Friday 7am–3pm with transition to swing shift; involves operating BCF Spinning machine, handling yarn paths, rethreading, winders, online quality checks, proper packaging and labeling, and training coworkers. Emphasis on safety, housekeeping, adherence to environmental guidelines, collaboration with supervisors, and ability to interpret safety rules, read English instructions, and perform basic calculations. Requires problem solving, planning, communication, and a self-motivated, dependable, detail-oriented approach to maintain quality and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing setting highly preferred
- Must be familiar with operation of Godet rolls, switches, heaters, and aspirators on BCF Spinning machine
- Must be familiar with yarn path/yarn thread/wraps on BCF Spinning machine and ability to rethread
- Must be familiar with Instrumar alarm lights
- Responsible for operating and doffing winders when yarn cycle is complete
- Perform online quality inspection of yarn (shade, air tack, winding, proper labels)
- Properly packing out yarn on buggies and label with correct information
- Train new and/or existing operators until competent
- Keep machine clean and wiped down (String Waste, Tack Box, Spin Finish Trays)
- General housekeeping of work area (Trash, Sweeping, Mopping)
- Transport yarn Test Buggy to Lab for Quality Testing
- Be aware of Aquafil's Recycling Guidelines and Environmental Management Systems Policy
- Assist Supervisors/Crew Leaders during product changes and spin pack changes
- Maintain Automotive Alarm Record documentation
- Report discrepancies to supervisor/line technician/crew leader
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and instructions in English
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts
- Readiness to work independently
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
