Job Summary
Open the office, start equipment, and prepare for daily patient arrivals. Answer incoming calls to route appropriately, schedule appointments and procedures, process cancellations, and send registration and consent paperwork. Greet patients, notify staff of their arrival, complete check-out processes, and make follow-up appointments. Enter and verify patient information, copy insurance cards, obtain pre-certifications, and enter data into the practice management system. Coordinate with the billing office, file dictation in the electronic medical record, and run reports to share statistics. Track inventory for clinical and office supplies, respond to emails and messages, provide appointment reminders, and clean rooms and instruments. Requires a high school diploma, one year of healthcare experience, and intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1-year experience in healthcare, medical office or hospital setting (preferred)
- Intermediate-Advance level ability in the Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate and articulate complex information simply
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and a positive attitude
- Ability to handle a multitude of different situations; sometimes simultaneously
- Must possess strong organizational skills
- Has a willingness to be challenged and to gain mastery in new areas
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking
