Job Summary
Create a safe, nurturing, and child-centered learning environment that supports emotional, physical, cognitive, and social development. Attend to children's physical and emotional needs, including hygiene, feeding, and safety. Establish a positive partnership with parents through newsletters, daily reports, and conferences. Edit lesson plans to meet individual and group interests. Observe, record, and report behavior while maintaining attendance and behavior records. Manage classroom supply inventory and notify the office when needed. This role requires three years of group education experience, a Bachelor's or Associate's degree with 45 hours of DCF training, and knowledge of Palm Beach County health department regulations. The JCC strengthens Jewish identity through diversified social, educational, and cultural programs for the entire community.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years' experience in group education of children
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree & 45 hour DCF training course in child care or the educational exemption granted by the training coordinating agencies, when applicable
- Candidates who meet Florida Department of Health requirements for teaching in an Early Childhood Learning Center
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to acquire it
- Knowledge of Palm Beach County Health Department rules and regulations governing child care facilities
- Judaic knowledge or willingness to acquire this knowledge through study
- An ability and desire to relate to young children and adults in an emotionally responsive manner
- Proven experience working well in a team environment and collaborating with colleagues and members of the community
