Job Summary
BAU Outside Plant Engineer to estimate, analyze, design, and plan OSP projects while tracking budgets and ensuring compliance with company and industry standards. Coordinate with municipal agencies, contractors, and utilities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. responsibilities include meeting with township/city/county/state officials (travel required; mileage reimbursed), locating Frontier facilities, collaborating on relocation plans, performing field/design OSP work orders, updating design systems (FROGS, CAD, Varasset, SiteTracker), coordinating with power companies and providers for make-ready work, preparing/permitting with local/state/federal agencies, partnering with SSP Contractors for construction, addressing plant damage repair requests, conducting site surveys and designing capital projects for cell towers, supporting field and central office technicians, and working with Contract Engineers. Requirements emphasize 3–5+ years in copper/fiber OSP engineering, 5+ years in network engineering, proficiency with relevant tools, and willingness to travel. Location constraint: Southeast, OH; compensation range and benefits described, with base pay range $36–$38 hourly (annualized to $74,880–$79,040) and full benefits.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years in copper and fiber-optic telecommunications engineering, including broadband design and OSP construction
- 5+ years in network engineering or related field, with strong knowledge of fiber record management, cable counts, and permitting
- Skilled in FROGS, CAD updates, and OSP Telecom Construction
- Proficiency with Frontier mapping, design tools, and permitting systems
- Strong ability to travel as needed for project meetings, inspections, and surveys
- Must reside in Southeast, OH
