Job Summary
Battery Field Technician (Motive Power) responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing motive power equipment. Performs routine preventative maintenance, basic troubleshooting, field and shop repairs, and responds to customer needs. Travels to other branches or sites to assist with product installation, removal or repairs (some overnight travel). Coordinates problem resolution with Technical Support, Customer Service, and Sales; works independently or with a team; adheres to safety regulations, DOT/Hazmat where applicable, and company policies. Requires strong communication, problem solving, and customer service skills; ability to manage time and complete service orders and documentation accurately.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED required.
- Certification from a technical school focused on electrical, mechanical repair or battery
- maintenance preferred.
- Associate degree from an approved two-year college or university, preferred or equivalent
- experience.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Possess a valid driver’s license, CDL a plus but not required.
- May be required to pass additional requirements under the Department of Transportation (DOT).
- Working knowledge of basic AC and DC electrical/electronic theory.
- Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to organize his/her own work and work independently, with limited supervision.
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs, and across
- remote offices.
- Ability to clearly articulate ideas (both written and verbal) to both internal and external customers
- and to listen effectively to customer needs.
