Battery Application Engineer

Job Summary
Develop working knowledge of AC and DC LINK products, including architecture, electrical systems, and BMS behavior, while becoming a subject matter expert in battery cells, DC/AC systems, mechanical/structural engineering, or SW/controls. Serve as the US team's internal technical resource for assigned BESS product lines by answering inquiries, supporting proposals, and clarifying specifications for Sales, Project, and System Engineering teams. Build and maintain standardized documentation such as technical datasheets, system architecture overviews, interface definitions, compliance summaries, and Q&A packages. Track HQ product updates, assess US market relevance, and communicate changes internally. Support pre-award and post-award activities including proposal reviews, technical clarifications, and design deviation tracking. Coordinate with internal and HQ technical teams on active projects and collect new product requirements based on customer and market interactions.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in battery energy storage, power electronics, inverter/PCS system, mechanical/structural engineering for large-scale equipment, or a closely related field
- Technical depth in at least one of the following areas: (a) battery cells (b) DC/AC electrical systems (c) mechanical/structural/civil engineering
- Experience in mechanical, structural, or civil engineering aspects of large-scale battery installations (container design, mounting, thermal/HVAC, seismic, civil foundation)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents including engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, and product specifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering, Power Systems, Electrochemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Energy Engineering, SW/Controls or related field
- Up to 15% -- to support customers and collaborate with international teams
