Job Summary
Operate computer-controlled batching systems to transfer product from storage bins through weigh bins into ready-mix trucks while maintaining maximum production levels. Record daily delivery statistics, maintenance activities, and material inventories; visually inspect loading trucks and concrete as needed. Interpret computer orders to control mix design and set appropriate slump, then print and file tickets for accurate record keeping. Diagnose process interruptions, assist in troubleshooting, and maintain an excellent personal safety record by adhering to lockout/tagout procedures. Balance driver hours to ensure equity and compliance with D.O.T. requirements while assisting the Dispatcher. Maintain a clean work environment and perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- One to Five years of prior experience operating equipment
- Knowledge of plant operation, maintenance and electrical systems
- Thorough understanding of concrete process
- Proficient in reading, writing, math and operational logic
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent personal safety record
- Current knowledge of D.O.T. and C.D.L. regulations
- Able to handle many/varied details in a pressure situation
- Self-starter with a very high standard of expectation of himself/herself and those with who he/she works
- Positive attitude toward other employees, customers, and supervisors
- Excellent work ethic - punctuality, accuracy, and attendance
- Possess a valid CDL (a plus)
- Pass required physical examination and drug screens
