Job Summary
High School Spanish/World Languages teacher position at Bastrop High School (Title I) seeking dynamic, culturally responsive instruction. Responsibilities include delivering standards-aligned Spanish instruction, developing listening/speaking/reading/writing proficiency, incorporating culturally relevant materials, designing interactive and student-centered learning experiences, using formative and summative assessments, differentiating instruction for diverse learners, maintaining a positive PBIS-aligned classroom, integrating technology, collaborating in PLCs, and ensuring compliance with FERPA, IDEA, and Section 504 while engaging families and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate in Spanish or World Languages or eligibility through an LDOE-approved pathway
- Demonstrated proficiency in Spanish (oral and written)
- Knowledge of Louisiana World Language Standards
- Skills in classroom management, differentiation, and data-driven instruction
- Understanding of FERPA, IDEA, and Section 504
- Proficiency with instructional technology and student data systems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to equity and cultural responsiveness
- Candidates enrolled in a Teacher Preparation Program must provide proof of enrollment and Praxis scores (if applicable)
