Job Summary
Deliver standards-aligned mathematics instruction for grades 7-8 at Bastrop High School (Title I) by implementing Louisiana Student Standards for Mathematics, fostering conceptual understanding and problem-solving, differentiating instruction to meet diverse learners, and using formative/summative assessments to guide decisions. Collaborate in Professional Learning Communities, ensure compliance with FERPA/IDEA/Section 504 and district policies, engage families to support student success, and integrate instructional technology to enhance engagement. Focus on promoting mathematical reasoning and real-world application while maintaining a positive, structured classroom environment aligned with PBIS expectations. Prioritize equity, student achievement, and continuous professional growth; participate in PLCs and adhere to district expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate in Mathematics (Grades 6–12) or eligibility through an LDOE-approved pathway
- Knowledge of Louisiana Student Standards for Mathematics
- Demonstrated skills in classroom management, differentiated instruction, and data-driven teaching
- Understanding of FERPA, IDEA, Section 504
- Proficiency with instructional technology and student data systems
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to equity, student achievement, and continuous professional growth
- Proof of enrollment and Praxis scores if applicable for candidates in Teacher Preparation Program
