Job Summary
Oversee athletic facilities, participants, and equipment during basketball games while enforcing IAABO and Youth League rules. Ensure fair treatment of all teams, maintain final scores, and de-escalate disputes with sound judgment to uphold a safe, inclusive environment. Arrive at least 10 minutes prior to Tuesday evening shifts in June and July from 6 PM to 10 PM. Complete incident reports, attend staff meetings and trainings, and adhere to all YMCA policies, including abuse risk management and emergency procedures. Maintain physical agility to run up and down a full court, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- IAABO Certified by International Association of Approved Basketball Officials, Inc.
- CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid
- Sufficient strength, agility, mobility and endurance to run up and down a full sized basketball court
- Climbing, crouching, standing, sitting on floor, kneeling, carrying (50 lbs), pushing, lifting (50 lbs), running and walking
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in sports as both a player and coach/instructor preferred
- Demonstrated ability to handle disputes related to calls and player conduct with composure and sound judgment

- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
