Job Summary
Basketball Communications Assistant is a full-time role with the Utah Jazz supporting public/media relations, including daily reports, game notes, media packets for home games, and coordination of media events for Jazz and its NBA G League affiliate. The role involves interacting with media, preparing materials for game nights, handling credentials, setting up media work areas, distributing scores and stats, assisting with team publications, supporting practice and shootaround media requests, and helping with draft-profile preparation for the 2027 NBA Draft and Summer League PR efforts. Requires a college-degree in a related field, at least one year of sports PR experience, knowledge of NBA terminology and statistics, strong writing skills, proficiency with Google Apps, and the ability to manage a heavy workload and nontraditional hours; must protect confidential information and embody the Jazz values.
Required Qualifications
- College graduate with a degree in a related field (Journalism, Communications/Public Relations, English or Sports Administration)
- Must have at least one year of experience in sports communications or public relations at either the professional or collegiate level
- Must have a solid knowledge of the NBA, statistics, and basketball terminology
- Must have strong writing skills
- Must be proficient with Google Apps
- Must have detail-oriented mindset
