Job Summary
Direct, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches while leading the training, conditioning, and performance of the varsity basketball team. Personally direct the team at all varsity contests and supervise athletes at invitational meets or postseason competition. Assist the athletic director and principal in hiring, retention, and equipment management, while ensuring proper insurance coverage and medical examinations for all student athletes. Maintain eligibility lists under VHSL rules, recommend player removals for training violations, and prepare schedules and official evaluations. Foster sportsmanship and pride in self, team, school, and community among participants and spectators.
Required Qualifications
- Coaching experience or participation in the sport which you are applying for on high school or college levels
- Completion of CPR and First Aid training or enrollment in current CPR and First Aid training course
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer experience as a teacher or classified employee in Loudoun County Public Schools
- Prefer a Virginia Teaching License candidate or a full-time classified employee for Loudoun County Public Schools
