Job Summary
Lead in a preschool teaching team to plan and implement developmentally appropriate experiences that advance cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development, with a focus on school readiness and family engagement. Responsibilities include supervising a Teacher Aide, ensuring Head Start compliance and licensing standards, coordinating professional development and coaching, developing and posting lesson plans and individualized learning plans, integrating developmentally appropriate activities across language, literacy, math, science, social studies, and creative arts, supporting dual-language learners, fostering strong family partnerships, and maintaining all required certifications and health/safety trainings.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education; or an associate or baccalaureate degree in a related field with coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education, with experience teaching preschool-age children
- If fewer than an associate degree in ECE or a related field, must complete Professional Development Plan and enroll in an ECE program within first year of teaching
- Head Start experience preferred (includes volunteering)
- Bilingual: fluency in English and Spanish preferred
- Current certification in Pediatric and Adult First Aid and CPR within 180 days of employment
- Must have dependable, insured transportation, Wyoming Driver’s License, and acceptable driving record
- Must pass initial and periodic health screening and TB clearance
- Must pass and maintain Teaching Strategies GOLD Interrater Reliability certification
- Knowledge of Wyoming DFS childcare licensing requirements and Head Start standards
- Ability to lead, supervise, mentor aides; strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work with diverse backgrounds and implement developmentally appropriate practices
- Willingness to travel out-of-county and out-of-state as required
- Familiarity with Head Start frameworks and lesson planning (Creative Curriculum)
