Basic Use of Force Instructor - NVCJA

Instruct and coordinate Use of Force training for the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy’s basic recruits and participating agencies. Responsibilities include coordinating, scheduling, and assisting in instruction of use of force and control tactics, developing and maintaining curriculum and training materials, conducting classroom and practical instruction, conducting program evaluations, and ensuring training is realistic and effective. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, Virginia instructor certifications, and comprehensive knowledge of laws and regulations governing use of force. The role also demands strong communication, lesson planning, safety adherence, and leadership abilities to guide staff and improve training outcomes. Salary range is $65,992 to $109,986 with a comprehensive benefits package, and the work schedule is four days per week.
