Job Summary
Render basic life support procedures to patients in a variety of settings consistent with state and local operating protocols. Operate Pro-Med vehicles safely while providing accurate oral reports to medical personnel and communicating with Dispatch. Complete all reports legibly, check operating supplies, and inspect vehicles for service readiness at each shift change. Maintain vehicles and quarters per company policies while performing duties in a safe, courteous, and confidential manner. Work rotating shifts of 36 hours one week and 48 hours the following 12-hour shifts every other weekend. Requires current EMT Basic license from Michigan and valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Current EMT Basic license from the State of Michigan
- Valid State of Michigan motor vehicle operating license
- Continued safe driving history
- Ability to provide good and accurate oral reports to designated medical personnel
- Operates Pro-Med vehicles in a safe, professional manner
- Attentive to the needs of patients
- Communicates with Dispatch via radio or telephone
- Completes all reports legibly, accurately and on a timely basis
- Checks operating supplies and vehicle utilizing Pro-Med's shift checklist
- Inspects vehicle to ensure that it is ready for service
- Performs all duties in a safe, courteous, confidential and professional manner
- Provides medical examination and screening of patients consistent with Medical Control Authority protocols
- Uses safety and PPE equipment as required by law and company policies
- Maintains vehicles and quarters pursuant to Pro-Med policies
- Available for rotating shifts
- 36 hours one week
- 48 hours the following week
- 12 hour shifts every other weekend
- Location: Grand Rapids, MI
- Operates within the scope of practice covered by his/her licensure level under the direction of a physician
