Job Summary
Respond to leader and team member questions regarding policies, workplace concerns, and HR best practices. Conduct workplace investigations into sensitive employee matters, managing everything from initial interviews through documentation and recommended actions. Coach leaders on performance and conduct discussions to ensure consistent disciplinary actions, while offering conflict resolution support to maintain team morale. Represent the company in union grievance hearings, unemployment claims, and internal review boards. Analyze case trends to identify root causes and suggest improvements to policies and engagement programs. This role supports fair practices across multiple store locations within Bashas' and The Raley's Companies, requiring bilingual skills and strong judgment in handling confidential matters.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3+ years of HR or employee relations experience
- Experience managing investigations related to harassment, discrimination, or conduct
- High school diploma
- Permanent residency in Arizona or New Mexico
Desired Qualifications
- multi-site or retail industry experience
- some college coursework
- HR certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP)
- Bilingual (Spanish)
- Exceptional judgment and problem-solving under pressure
- Strong ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy and confidentiality
- Ability to influence and coach leaders at all levels of the organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Comfortable working independently and managing time across urgent and routine matters
- Familiarity with employment laws including EEO, ADA, FMLA, wage & hour, and union awareness
