Baseball Data & Statistics Intern (California Collegiate League)

Job Summary
Be the official scorer for Home Games and select Road Games, while tracking statistics for coaches and staff. Produce hitting and pitching charts, operate the TrackMan system at every Home Game, and manage the Synergy video metric system including camera setup, monitoring, and footage upload. Generate reports, assessments, and tools for coaches; communicate hot streaks and records to the Social Media Team. Develop an independent research project from data collection to potential publication and report special projects to the General Manager. Requirements include TrackMan and Excel proficiency, with Synergy, SQL, and predictive modeling skills preferred. The season runs May 25 to August 10, 2025, with game days from 1:00 to 10:00 p.m. and variable remote hours. This role offers college credit and represents the Arroyo Seco Saints' mission to provide elite collegiate summer baseball experience.
Required Qualifications
- Experience using TrackMan at your College or University, or in another setting
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and data processing formulas
- Knowledge of baseball rules and statistic
- Must be available for the entire season, from May 25, 2025 to August 10, 2025
- Able to be responsive and send information or data to the Saints staff at possibly unusual times
- All interns will be required to commit for the duration of the season
- Ability to begin remote work before the season begins is a plus
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Synergy, and use within a College or Professional Baseball setting
- Familiarity with programming in either R or Python
- Competency in SQL data queries
- An understanding of XML and JSON data
- Experience with remote FTP servers and SSL protocols
- Experience building and interpreting predictive models
- A strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, computer science, and/or engineering
- Pursuing or completed an undergraduate degree in a related major
- Represent the Arroyo Seco Saints by exhibiting a high level of professionalism at all times
- A team player with a get it done work ethic and an upbeat and friendly attitude
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once and complete assigned tasks on schedule
- Posses a strong attention to detail
- Be willing to go 50 feet extra. Don't try to be done 6 inches short
- Work proactively and possess strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Self-motivated and detail oriented
- Comfortable working in groups
- Interact with Saints front office members, coaches, players, staff, and staff from opposing organizations, the California Collegiate League, and more
- Ability to begin remote work before the season begins
