Job Summary
Senior Base Engine Technical Design Specialist leads as a technical authority for base engine components (e.g., cylinder heads, valvetrain, combustion system elements, crankshafts, connecting rods, pistons, bearings, balance systems) from concept to production release, provides system-level guidance on performance, durability, NVH, weight and manufacturability, mentors team members, participates in design reviews and root-cause investigations, defines and executes DVPs, and drives innovative, manufacturable designs while leveraging CAE and cross-functional collaboration to reduce risk and enable patentable ideas for Brunswick's marine engine portfolio.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years of progressive experience in internal combustion engine design
- Ownership of critical base engine components
- Broad understanding of overall engine system behavior
- Proven ability to define and execute comprehensive DVPs
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including casting, forging, machining, heat treatment, grinding, balancing, and assembly
