BAS Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Oversee subconsultant scopes of work, including development, review, and coordination of Statements of Objectives, construction drawings, and technical specifications. Ensure deliverables are complete and aligned with project requirements using the DLB QAQC process while managing project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders. Develop and maintain BAS and EPMS production standards, specification sections, and training materials in conjunction with the BIM team. Collaborate with outsource partners, MEP design engineers, and contractors to monitor scope compliance and support timely delivery of design packages. Assist in onsite engineering audits, feasibility studies, and surveys for retrofit projects. Leverage AI-enabled digital tools to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort in workflow optimization.

Required Qualifications

  • B.A. / B.S. degree in Engineering, construction or related disciplines
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in BAS controls systems engineering
  • Knowledge of open-source protocols (BACnet, Modbus and SNMP)
  • Knowledge of IoT and smart building solutions
  • Knowledge of typical data center control redundancy strategies
  • Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in the construction mission critical, commercial buildings, or other structures
  • Skilled at using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
  • Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
  • Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation
  • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace
  • Ability to identify and analyze complex problems, evaluate alternatives and implement effective solutions
  • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
  • Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision
  • Ability to effectively plan and delegate the work of others
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Approximately 10% travel to client sites, partner offices, or company events across the U.S.
