Job Summary
Commissioning Manager responsible for delivering the technical scope of Thermo Systems projects, leading on-site commissioning activities, and coordinating engineering resources to ensure systems are installed, tested, commissioned, and accepted by customers. Partners with Project Manager and Site Manager to develop/testing strategy, oversee FAT/SAT, drive punch list resolution, and maintain as-built records. Serves as primary customer technical liaison, leads technical reviews and acceptance activities, supports operational readiness including customer training, and ensures quality, safety, and timely delivery. Requires strong communication, project coordination, and a hands-on leadership approach with extensive field experience in industrial automation and controls; travel is significant based on commissioning schedules. The role is hybrid in Reston, VA, with a focus on customer-facing delivery and technical leadership across projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent hands-on field experience
- 5–8 years of commissioning experience, including 3–4 years of technical field experience in commissioning, controls, automation, or related discipline
- Hands-on experience leading field teams and managing technical resources across concurrent project activities
- Experience serving as a primary client contact or site-level technical liaison
- Industrial automation or systems integration background
- FAT/SAT and commissioning methodology experience in data center or critical infrastructure environments
- Multidisciplinary engineering coordination experience across MEP and controls disciplines
- Experience with customer commissioning platforms such as CX Alloy or BIM 360
