Job Summary
Greet, serve, and communicate with guests throughout their visit to ensure a positive experience. Maintain high knowledge of food, cocktail, wine, and beer menus to explain items suggestively while measuring, mixing, and pouring all drinks. Properly present, open, and serve wine, and respond to guest questions regarding specials and appetizers. Enter all orders via the POS system according to coursing preferences and handle cash and credit card transactions with care. Work with barbacks, management, servers, and bussers to create a seamless dining environment. If no barback is present, manage restocking, filling ice, dishwashing, cutting fruit, and trash removal. Attend educational sessions as required. Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent English speaking and communication skills
- Meets state minimum age to bartend
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to provide top notch customer service in a fast-paced environment
- A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with bussers, cooks and other staff
- Stand and work in constant motion for the entire shift
- Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised
- Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system
- Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, champagne, and mixed cocktails
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in a bar or similar environment (Preferred)
