Job Summary
Receive orders from patrons or waitstaff and prepare and serve liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic beverages. Maintain bar spaces, keep them clean and organized, and attractively display glasses, liquor, and other bar items. Ensure that fruit and other garnishes are prepared ahead of the opening of the bar. Collect payments from guests for drinks prepared and served, and verify legal drinking age by checking photo IDs. Utilize proper judgment and discretion to refuse service to intoxicated or disruptive patrons.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of drink preparation and service
- Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and presentation skills with focus on serving customers
- Ability to work in fast-paced, changing environment
- Ability to remain calm when dealing with unruly and argumentative patrons
- Ability to learn Point of Sales systems and software
- Completion of mixology, barkeeping, or other related training
- Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds at a time
- Must be at least 18 years or older to serve alcoholic drinks
