Job Summary
Bartender responsible for providing excellent, efficient customer service with a focus on the bar. Tasks include ringing in food and drink orders, making drinks, maintaining sanitation at the bar, memorizing the menu and cocktail recipes, handling cash, completing health audits, stocking and cleaning beverage areas, and assisting with opening/closing procedures. Duties also cover prep work such as portioning food, prepping to-go boxes, making Agua Frescas and other nonalcoholic drinks, and preparing garnishes and syrups for cocktails. Requirements emphasize teamwork, strong communication, quick connection with guests, and adaptability; proficiency with POS systems and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment is expected. Spanish language skills and knowledge of liquor laws and tastings are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Able to speak English
- Comfortable working with a team
- Basic math knowledge, particularly addition and subtraction
- Able to take constructive criticism
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Good verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with technology (POS systems, printers, KDS, etc.)
- Able to multitask and prioritize on the fly
- Prior experience in a retail or restaurant job, specifically as a barback or bartender (preferred)
- Knowledgeable of basic measurements (ounces, cups, etc) (preferred)
- Knowledgeable of basic liquor laws in your stores jurisdiction (preferred)
- Knowledgeable of alcohol pairings and tastings (preferred)
- Bonus points for Mezcal knowledge (preferred)
- Can speak English and Spanish (preferred)
- Local Alcohol Handler's certification (if applicable) (preferred)
