Job Summary
Conduct hybrid bartending and server duties at the Smith Tower Observatory & Bar, preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage orders, maintaining recipe standards, and ensuring consistent cocktail presentation. Deliver warm, attentive service to guests while accurately taking orders, accommodating special requests, and managing food running and bussing as needed. Work as a banquet and catering bartender for private events, promotional activities, and meetings under Operations Manager and Banquet Captain direction. Adhere strictly to food safety protocols, Washington State Liquor Laws, and valid ID checks. Proactively address guest concerns and feedback to exceed expectations. Maintain clean and organized bar and dining areas, including consistent glassware and barware washing.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality environment
- The ability to read, write and speak English fluently
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong guest service skills
- The ability to be solutions oriented
- The ability to perform essential functions and a computerized point of sale system
- The ability to stand up and down for more than three (3) hours at a time
- The ability to de-escalate, be organized, and handle busy operations
- Must maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift (30+) Pounds
- Basic math skills
- Adherence to all food safety and health practices
- Adherence to all Washington State Liquor Laws, including the practice of valid ID checks
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of our menu items, including our curated cocktails, and confidently making recommendations to enhance the guest experience
- Work as a banquet/catering bartender and/or server private events, promotional/consumer events, and meetings as instructed by Operations Manager and Banquet Captain
