Job Summary
Prepare high-quality beverages for guests while maintaining bar cleanliness, organizing stock, and resetting tables. Take orders for drinks and food, enter them into the Point of Sale system, and process payments with accurate cash drawer management. Monitor guests for appropriate alcohol intake, check identification, and ensure a safe environment by resolving facility issues or arranging safe rides home. Maintain knowledge of beer, wine, and mixed drinks, present menus, and answer beverage questions. Work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Valid Vermont Liquor Certification required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Knowledge of Point of Sale and Order processing systems
- Valid Vermont Department of Liquor Certification
- Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed
- Must be 21 years of age
- Extensive knowledge of liquor mixed drinks, beer and wine
- Must have the ability to think quickly
- Must have the ability to maintain awareness of surroundings
- Must have the ability to monitor guests for signs of alcohol overconsumption
- Must have the ability to provide top-notch customer service
- Must have the ability to multi-task
- Must have the ability to oversee the bar, it's guests and the exchange of money
- Must be able to lift and/or move 100 pounds or more
- Must be able to stand

- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
