Job Summary
Make and serve drinks to guests and cocktail servers following established guidelines, procedures, and policies regarding beverage and safety controls. Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient, and professional manner while maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction. Ring guest checks, collect cash, process credits, and room charges according to company policies. Complete liquor requisitions, supply lists, and ensure established pars are maintained. Know and comply with state liquor laws and perform all sidework duties according to schedules. Operate cash registers and accurately count cash. Maintain 100% continuous standing throughout the shift, climb approximately 12 steps 20% of 8 hours, and lift up to 100 lbs. Work in a physically strenuous environment at the Canopy by Hilton Hotel's boat bar in Bethesda.
Required Qualifications
- Bartending training and certification
- TIPS Certified
- 6 months bartending
- Must be 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
- Must be able to ruse records and all special requests
- Must be able to perform multiple tasks at one time
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instruction in English
- Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Must be highly organized
- Must be able to pay attention to sound and sight details in crowded and noisy situations
- Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations
- Ability to accurately count cash
- Ability to operate cash register
- Must be able to lift 20 -40 lbs
- Must be able to push carts, Queen Marys, hotbox, portable bar 50 -100 lbs
- Must be able to carry trays, dish racks, glass racks, etc. 20 -40 lbs
- Must be able to bend to lower level cabinets
- Must be able to maneuver in narrow areas and between seated guests
- Must be able to stand continuously for 100% of scheduled time
- Must be able to climb approximately 12 steps 20% of 8 hours
