Job Summary
Check identification to verify age requirements for alcohol purchases and present menus to take food and beverage orders. Prepare drink orders including wine, liquor, and beer, while slicing fruit for garnishes and arranging bottle displays. Monitor seating to ensure guests are served, clean work areas and bar equipment, and maintain kitchen stations by stocking supplies. Compute bills, accept payments, and track sales receipts, ensuring tips are reported properly for tax processing. Inventories liquor and food supplies weekly, orders requisitions as needed, and maintains daily temp and waste logs. Limit liability by discontinuing service to excessive drinkers and notifying management of potential issues.
Required Qualifications
- Three to six months related experience
- Alcohol Awareness Certification
- Ability to read write and speak the English language
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism
- Knowledge of and ability to appropriately interpret and follow policies and procedures
- Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety and security procedures
- Ability to present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely
- Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule to be at work and on time
- Ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours
