Job Summary
Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, anticipate guest needs, and respond promptly while utilizing suggestive selling techniques to take orders. Complete opening duties including checking bar stock, requisitioning supplies, and setting the bar and stations according to service standards. Ensure cleanliness and condition of assigned areas, record orders into the point-of-sale system, and collect and report tips. Guide bar back activities, remove soiled wares, and complete closing duties and reports as assigned. Must be TIPS and Food Safety certified, follow 4 Keys service standards, and possess the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work flexible long hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalence
- Minimum 1 year experience as a barback or bartender in a hotel or restaurant
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be TIPS and Food Safety certified
- Must be able to prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision
- Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task efficiently
- Must be able to speak and understand and communicate the primary language(s) used in the workplace
- Must possess excellent communication, follow-up, and organizational skills
- Must have the ability to push, pull bend, squat and lift on a regular basis
- Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up
- Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment
- Follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest's service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
- Knowledgeable and ensure compliance of all state liquor regulations
- Knowledgeable of beverages, recipes and correct glassware and garnishes
- Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors, and guests a normal in-person and phone conversation
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
- Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs
