Job Summary
Seasonal Bartender at Navy Pier operating mobile beverage carts to serve ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages in an outdoor, high-volume entertainment setting. Responsibilities include friendly customer service, age/ID verification per Illinois liquor laws, safe service of pre-packaged RTD beverages, processing cashless transactions via POS, maintaining product knowledge, inventory replenishment, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service standards. The role requires reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Certifications include BASSET (or ability to obtain before first shift); Food Handler Certification preferred. Prior bartending, concessions, or guest-service experience is preferred. Shift schedule is seasonal and part-time with outdoor work conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- 1-2 years bartending, hospitality, or guest experience is preferred
- Valid Illinois BASSET Certification (or ability to obtain before first shift)
- Food Handler Certification preferred
- Experience in high-volume entertainment, sports, festival, concert, or event environments is a plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
- Comfortable handling cashless transactions and point-of-sale systems
