Job Summary
Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food to guests in a music hall atmosphere with a cheerful attitude. Interact with guests in a friendly demeanor, suggestively sell beverages and menu items, and prioritize drink orders while consistently preparing beverages per standard recipes. Cultivate regular guests, deliver orders promptly, and request proper identification for anyone under 30. Record equipment failures or safety hazards in the bar log, refuse service to intoxicated guests per local ordinance, and maintain HOB safety and sanitation standards. Perform opening, running, and closing duties, prepare guest checks, process payments, maintain the bartender bank, and conduct cash pull/check-out procedures. Complete a pour test prior to every shift where applicable. Occasionally work special events scheduled throughout the venue.
Required Qualifications
- CA Food Handler Card/ Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent
- Ability to work late hours
- Flexible schedule
- Cash handling experience
- Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques
- Skill in interpersonal communication and teamwork
- Physically able to pass a pour test and a mixology drill (timed)
- Ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety minded manner
- Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent
- Applicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa
Desired Qualifications
- 4 years work experience in high volume environment
- Experience recognizing valid ID's
- Experience in a live music environment
