Job Summary
Greet customers, learn their preferences, and recommend menu items while preparing and serving beverages and food. Validate customer IDs, monitor consumption to address intoxication, and direct beverage orders to the kitchen as needed. Ensure the bar service space remains well-stocked, clean and sanitize tables and floors after each service, and collect payments or charge transactions to guest accounts per IHM policy. Know local health and safety codes and regulations that apply to the hotel. This position may require flexible scheduling availability based on guest occupancy, season, staffing, and other factors. Required Qualifications
- Be readily available and approachable for all guests while always extending professionalism
- Know local health and safety codes and regulations that apply to the hotel
- Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
- Ability to work well in stressful situations
- Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service
- Must be able to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to work flexible scheduling availability
- Must be able to validate customers' IDs and monitor all beverage consumption in order to address severe intoxication
- Must be able to work variable hours based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors
