Job Summary
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with club standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area. Interact with members and guests, taking orders, offering menu recommendations, and ensuring they feel valued. Process payments and handle transactions accurately and securely while staying up to date with mixology trends to enhance the beverage menu. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and state and local alcohol serving laws. Work a flexible schedule including holidays, weekends, and late hours. Obtain current Illinois food handler's and BASSETT certifications within seven days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Exhibit a working knowledge of bar equipment, standard drink recipes, and spirits, wine and beer.
- Understand classes of alcohol, different glasses, brand names, and garnishments.
- Demonstrate knowledge of state and local alcohol serving laws.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle difficult situations with poise.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
- Possess or be willing to obtain relevant food handling and BASSET certifications within seven days of hire.
- Be able to stand, walk, reach, bend, etc. for extended periods of time.
- Be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Have basic math and computer skills.
- Be available to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, weekends, and late hours.
- Have current Illinois' food handler's and BASSETT certifications, or be willing to obtain those within seven (7) days of hire.
