Job Summary
Welcome guests, take beverage and food orders, and deliver prompt, attentive service while verifying identification to ensure compliance with alcohol service laws. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to brand standards, maintain bar inventory using FIFO practices, and operate the point-of-sale system to process payments and balance cash. Set up and break down the bar, ensure a sanitary work area, and rotate inventory to reduce waste. This role requires TABC and ServSafe certifications, basic math skills, and the ability to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in fast-paced environments. Flexible scheduling includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. PAH Management operates select-service properties under Marriott and Hilton brands, dedicated to placing associates first.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess or obtain required TABC certification prior to serving alcohol, where required by state law.
- Must possess or obtain ServSafe Food Handler certification, if required by local or state regulations.
- Basic knowledge of beverage preparation, food service, and responsible alcohol service.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations, accurately handle cash, and operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and fast-paced food and beverage environments.
- Regular exposure to wet floors, glassware, cleaning chemicals, refrigeration equipment, and moderate noise levels.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous bartending, restaurant, hotel, or food and beverage experience preferred.
- Knowledge of classic cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits.
- Experience using hospitality POS systems.
