Job Summary
Prepare cocktails and beverages to guest specifications while setting up banquet events and serving appetizers. Open wine, take drink orders, and assist with food/buffet preparation before and during events. Describe bar items, methods of preparation, and prices as needed, then up sell menu items to maximize revenues. Serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, process payments accurately, and balance cash/tips at shift end. Perform pre and post-shift side work including table setup, breakdown, and cleaning. Enter orders to the POS system, note special requests, and keep kitchen staff informed of meal progression. Follow all food handling, TIPS, P.A.S.T., and sanitation guidelines while maintaining work area cleanliness and stocking levels.
Required Qualifications
- Experience within a hotel/resort environment
- A valid current Food Handlers Card or willingness and ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment
- Responsible Beverage Certified (TiPS) P.A.S.T. training completed
- Ability to multi-task
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to serve needs of guest through verbal face-to-face interaction
- Ability to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals while operating under the Yedla Management Company handbook
- Possess a basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards of comparable operation, guest relations and etiquette
- Ability to work on AM, PM, weekend and holiday shifts as required by operational needs
