Job Summary
The Bartender position aboard the cruise involves mixing high-quality beverages and delivering prompt, hospitable service at guest and service bars. Responsibilities include following the Our RESPECT Service System, accurately following beverage recipes, providing bar service to guests and servers, setting up/breaking down the bar, maintaining bar cleanliness and safety, handling POS transactions and payments, and informing guests about beverage and food menu descriptions, cruise routes, and points of interest. Additional duties as assigned and requiring availability for nights, weekends, and major holidays. Requires high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of bartending experience, knowledge of beverage recipes, strong customer service and organizational skills, multitasking ability, computer literacy, and professional grooming.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) required
- At least one (1) year of previous bartending experience is required
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of beverage recipes
- Strong customer service, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Maintain a high level of organization, detail oriented and meet deadlines
- Handle multiple tasks/projects at one time
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by job responsibility
- Listen effectively, assess the situation, determine relevant issues, & suggest solutions
- Have a working knowledge of computer skills, including but not limited to proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites
- Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to coworkers and guests
- Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards
- Will be required to be available for work nights, weekends and on all major holidays
