Job Summary
Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, mix signature cocktails, and serve snacks to bar and restaurant patrons. Interact with customers to take orders, check identification for legal drinking age, and offer recommendations on local craft beers and wines. Plan and present the bar menu, restock inventory, and ensure compliance with food and safety regulations. Complete opening and closing duties, manage cash handling and POS systems, and maintain a clean, organized work area. Work flexible hours including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays while adhering to pour-cost control and inventory standards.
Required Qualifications
- One year of prior bartending experience preferred
- Prior guest relations training
- Proper food safety training and certification as described by law
- Experience working with POS (Toast, Micros, Aloha, etc.) and reservation software (Toast)
- Strong knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
- Knowledge of proper food handling
- Excellent written/verbal communications skills
- Positive upbeat attitude/personality
- Punctuality and reliable attendance are required
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and other team members
- Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with minimum supervision
- Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
- Must be willing to work flexible hours such as mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
- Regularly required to stand and walk for a prolonged period of time, transport materials or equipment, and lifting, moving, or carrying heavy objects over 30 lbs
- Occasionally lifting, moving, or carrying objects up to 50 lbs
- Regularly requiring motor coordination in combination with finger dexterity to grasp, handle, feel, reach, extending arms overhead, etc
- Frequently required to bend, stoop, etc
- Must be capable of working effectively in both a hot and cold extreme temperature environment. Work surfaces may be unlevel, slippery, or unstable
