Job Summary
Greet customers and visitors, answer phone calls, and direct parties to appropriate destinations while briefing them on safety policies. Weigh trucks, prepare scale tickets, and direct drivers to loading points. Enter, track, maintain, and report information into JD Edwards, JWS, OnBase, and Excel software. Provide customer service to drivers and internal stakeholders. Perform other duties as assigned. Most work is performed in a quiet to moderate noise office environment with occasional lifting up to 35 pounds. This role supports efficient plant operations within Barrett Paving Materials' heavy civil construction division.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree or equivalent
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Good grammar, spelling, and proofreading abilities
- Ability to work with numbers in detail with accuracy
- Basic computer skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently
- Ability to work with the public
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
- Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects and operate a computer
- Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
- Sitting for long periods at a desk using a computer with intermittent breaks
- Occasionally required to stand and walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; visiting work sites may require walking over uneven terrain and some exposure to dust, chemicals, and loud noise
