Job Summary
Prepare coffee shop beverages and food items according to set standards and established procedures. Operate cash registers to itemize purchases and process payments via cash, checks, credit cards, and gift certificates. Stock merchandise displays, rotate coffee items, and maintain a clean, well-stocked department compliant with safety and sanitation guidelines. Notify the department lead if products or supplies need ordering. Comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, and damaged product procedures. Communicate loyalty programs, specials, and coupons to customers while modeling high service standards. Follow all PPE, food safety, cleaning, and guest experience guidelines. May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs.
Required Qualifications
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- May be required to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures)
- Exposed to outside weather conditions
- Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of retail or related experience
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact politely and effectively with customers
- Good customer service and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
