Job Summary
Barista/Team member at Sip & Bite Cafe provides quick, friendly service in a high-volume cafe. Responsibilities include greeting guests, processing transactions via POS, preparing hot and cold beverages, maintaining café cleanliness, assisting with food prep, packing orders, stocking, and supporting all areas of operation. Requires a valid CA Food Handlers Card (or obtain within 14 days), English fluency, ability to operate espresso equipment, and ability to stand up to 8 hours. Multiple shift options available (4- or 8-hour shifts; day/morning/weekend).
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in English is required
- Ability to process information and merchandise through the POS register system
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to learn and operate technical equipment (e.g., espresso machine)
- Ability to accurately handle currency with guests, including reconciling all cash
- Willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment
- You must have a valid CA Food Handlers Card (or will be asked to obtain one within 14 days of hiring)
- Previous experience in food, beverage, retail, or customer service is a huge plus
